I'm Nathan Mayhook. I was born in Iowa City, Iowa, raised in Alaska, and currently reside in the Portland metro area of SW Washington. I'm a web designer for Anchorage-based Laymon Design, LLC, and work with my spouse, Mindy Mayhook, who also works for the Laymon Design firm as a graphic design artist. She is also a co-managing member of Laymon Design.
Mainly proficient with XHTML and CSS, I also work comfortably with such script languages as Javascript, JQuery, and PHP, as well as with Flash animation.
Though I'm just as good at brewing beer, I bring the same technical mindset and creative bent to web design. I have that certain creative sense that allows me to both absorb and transform the client's vision--be it grounded in marketplace idealism or a cogent business identity--into a clean, efficient and memorable website. That's my goal anyway.
I'm also quite facsinated, and adept, with search engine optimization (SEO), which appeals to my innate competitive sense. SEO, in a nutshell, enhances your visibility with Internet search engines. That's what I do.
